Rhynie Chert
Rhynie Chert
, 2022. story geschichte verhaal historia
It comes from a small hillside down the road from Scottish
Sculpture Workshop (SSW) in the village of Lumsden, Aberdeenshire,
Scotland.
The Rhynie Chert provides us with insights into the structure and
interactions of early terrestrial communities.
Fossils found in this chert date back 407 million-years to when
life was starting to form on land and shares with us some of the
first records of fungal symbiosis.
SSW is a place set up for people to work and learn together. This
chert serves as a reminder to us of how essential
collaboration is to our existence and ability to thrive.
It tells us without working together, we would not be here.
The product was sold during documenta fifteen, at Lumbung Kios
located in Hübner-Areal venue. We exhibited and sold rural objects,
creations and artworks that tell local stories from areas around
Kassel about our local partners. And goods from our visiting Rural
School of Economics network, that came to documenta with trade in
their suitcase.
