The International Village Shop is a growing trans-local network of cultural producers who set up trading places for goods with strong local connections.

The shop consists of many different shops across rural and urban settings. The individual shop can be permanent or temporary. Forms of trade and currencies are set by each shopkeeper.

The product for the village of Tewel in the Lüneburg Heath is intended to propagate a positive image of interdependence, as defined by the local committee: only together will it work. It is also to be produced in co-operation with the Möhlmann handle factory, which has been producing handles for axes, hatchets and brooms in Tewel for a long time. The handle factory is a unique selling point of Tewel and everyone is proud of its resilience to the vicissitudes of the market.
Product designer Michael Lehner creates a three-legged table made from axe handles, held together by a Y-connector, a turned ring and a twisted rope. Easy to dismantle, stabilized only through twisting and tension.

Das Produkt für das Dorf Tewel in der Lüneburger Heide soll, so hat es das dortige Komitee definiert,  ein positives Bild von wechselseitiger Abhängigkeit propagieren: nur zusammen wird es was. Außerdem soll es in Kooperation mit der Stielfabrik Möhlmann produziert werden, die in Tewel seit langem Stiele für Äxte, Beile und Besen produziert. Die Stielfabrik ist ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal von Tewel und auf ihre Resilienz gegenüber den Wechselfällen des Marktes sind alle stolz.
Der Produktdesigner Michael Lehner entwirft einen dreibeinigen Tisch aus Axtstielen, durch ein Y- Verbindungsstück, einen gedrechselten Ring und ein verdrehtes Seil zusammengehalten, zerlegbar, aber durch Spannung stabil.
