Some of the Travelling Goods from the International Village Shop network - including some of our bestsellers - are featured in the Dundee Commons Shop.
The Dundee Commons Shop has been set up by Claire Briegel and is part of Dundee Commons Festival, exploring social and environmental aspects of the Commons whilst also celebrating alternative economies of exchange. These alternative economies include food, dance, community planning, poetry, song, the visual and the digital arts.
Dundee Commons Shop invites individuals and organisations to contribute produce and products based on local, small-scale productivity or self-organisation. According to the concept of the shop, each contributor decides their own currency of trade or exchange: fixed prices, suggested donations, exchanges, or simply being 'free' if there is a surplus. Each product will be clearly marked as such, with a short explanation of the exchange. Contributors are all welcome to leave information and publicity about their projects, to help in visualising local networks.
